Business Author Mastermind: August Workshop — How to Prepare

Here's everything you need to get ready!

We can't wait to see you at the Business Author Mastermind Workshop — a full day of working on your business with Chandler Bolt, the selfpublishing.com team, and a room full of business authors building right alongside you.

This isn't a sit-and-listen seminar. It's a working session built around a simple rhythm: we teach a concept, then you apply it to your author business on the spot. By the end of the day you'll have a one-page profit plan, a 3-year vision, your annual and quarterly goals, and a weekly execution system to hit them.

Here's how to make sure you arrive ready to get the most out of it.

How to Prepare

Step 1: Book your travel and hotel

Hotel: The workshop, the evening reception, and the full Summit all happen at Hotel Viata, so we recommend staying on-site. We've reserved an exclusive room block at a discounted rate — rooms are first come, first served, so book as soon as you can.

Book your room at Hotel Viata here.

Flights: Plan to arrive Tuesday evening, August 25 so you're rested and ready for the 8:00 AM start. If you're staying for the Author Business Summit (a separate event happening Aug. 27 - 29), most attendees fly home Sunday, August 30.

Step 2: Gather your numbers

The single best thing you can do to prepare: know your numbers. You'll be building a real profit plan for your real business, and the work goes much faster when you're not guessing. Before you fly in, pull together your revenue and profit for the last 12 months, your current offers and pricing, and a rough picture of where your time goes each week.

Don't have clean numbers? Come anyway — your best estimates are enough to work with. But 30 minutes of prep here will multiply what you get out of the day.

Step 3: Pack for a working session

Bring your laptop or a notebook (whichever you plan with), your numbers from Step 2, and your calendar — you'll be making real decisions and scheduling real commitments before you leave the room. And dress comfortably; you'll be in the room most of the day.

Step 4: Come with your biggest question

Part of the day is a rapid-fire Scaling Profit Q&A with Chandler. Decide ahead of time: what's the one question about your business you'd pay to have answered? Write it down and bring it.

What your day looks like

Rather than an hour-by-hour agenda, here's what the day is built around. Each teaching block is paired with dedicated execution time so you apply it before we move on.

The evening Cocktail Reception

After the workshop wraps, we'll regroup from 7:00 – 8:30 PM for a cocktail reception at Hotel Viata — a relaxed chance to connect with the speakers, the selfpublishing.com team, and your fellow business authors before the Summit begins the next morning. Don't skip it; some of the best connections of the week happen here.
