How Long Does it take for Reviews to get Posted on Amazon?
Amazon book reviews generally appear online within 72 hours of being submitted.
While most reviews show up within a few days, authors at selfpublishing.com have experienced varying timelines.
Here is what you can typically expect:
- Immediate Posts: Some reviews go live almost instantly.
- Minor Delays: It is common for some reviews to take a bit longer, sometimes up to 4 or 5 days.
- Amazon's Discretion: Amazon retains complete control over how long it takes to approve a review, as well as whether or not a review gets published at all. If your readers are experiencing severe delays, they will need to reach out to Amazon Support directly.
Tip for Authors: Ask your book launch team to notify you as soon as they submit their review so you can keep an eye out for it—and don't forget to thank them for their support!
Will reviews be marked as a "Verified Purchase" if the reader got the book during a free promotion?
Yes. A review will still receive the "Verified Purchase" badge if the reader downloaded the book via your book's official "Buy" button during a free promotion, provided they also meet Amazon's standard Verified Purchase requirements (such as having spent at least $50 on Amazon using a valid credit or debit card in the past 12 months).
