What are Social Media Handles?

Social media handles are unique usernames or identifiers that people use on social media platforms to represent themselves or their brand. They typically start with the "@" symbol and are used to tag or mention users in posts, comments, or messages. Each platform allows you to create a personalized handle, which can often be linked to your profile or page.

Example of social media handles:

  • Instagram: @JaneDoeAuthor
  • Twitter/X: @DoeWritesBooks

Handles help make it easy for others to find you, engage with your content, and tag you in their own posts. Ideally, you want your handles to be consistent across platforms to build a recognizable personal or brand identity.

To get your social media handles, follow these steps for the most popular platforms:

1. Instagram

  • Open the Instagram app or website.
  • Tap on your profile picture in the bottom-right corner (or click your profile on the web).
  • Your handle is the username displayed at the top of your profile, usually in the format of @YourUsername.
  • Example: @JaneDoeAuthor.
